The organiser

It’s always nice to know who is behind an event. Run The Streets Worthing is managed by Richard Xerri, a long term athlete and a large contributor to voluntary service in the local athletics scene in South London.

A visitor to Worthing on a regular basis in the late 90’s Richard still ponders if his name plate is still in the Dome Cinema early in their restoration fund!

I remember finishing 2nd or 3rd in the Worthing 10km years ago, I lost by a few seconds but it was nothing a cold beer and ample fish and chips on the sea front couldn’t fix!Mr. Xerri

He is manager of the Surrey XC squad for children, a long term member of Hercules Wimbledon AC, organising the Wimbledon Dash 5k on a voluntary basis and coaches locally with Ranelagh Harriers in Richmond upon Thames.

Every race has a charity element at the very heart of its aims, supporting those who need help and assistance at difficult times. Your entry is much appreciated by all the charities involved in our work.

Over the last year Richard has contributed around £20,000 to local good causes through the events he manages and created events that have raised in excess of £100,000 for the respective charities.
